Pre-Match Facts and Thoughts:

Arsenal host PSV Eindhoven in the final gameweek of group fixtures in the Champions League. Neither side has all that much to play for as both sides will progress into the RO16. Expect heavily rotated teams from both sides, although perhaps PSV will not want to leave anything to chance. I would expect to see multiple first team debuts for some academy players for Arsenal, as well as a Champions League debut for the disillusioned Aaron Ramsdale.

My potential Arsenal lineup should tell you all you need to know about this game – for us, it is a damp squib. Champions League game, under the lights, midweek, on the back of an infuriating loss, time to bounce back? Not for me. Play the kids. This game does nothing for us no matter the result; we have already topped the group. With the December fixture congestion well and truly in full swing, I don’t want to see any player that we want to see starting in league fixtures in this starting lineup. It simply isn’t worth the risk. My lineup is incredibly out there and is rotated in such a way that I don’t think we have ever seen Mikel Arteta rotate his team, but it is certainly not the type of rotation I could rule out.
