✍🏼 Pre-Match Ramblings

This isn’t the F5 you’re hoping for, I know, but it has to be done…

We face Dinamo Zagreb in our penultimate UCL League Stage match at home on Wednesday in a winnable game that can hopefully restore some positivity around the club. A game like this, however, is going to be where our lack of squad depth really hits us. How far should Arteta go with rotation?

For me, I would quite like to see players like Kiwior, Zinchenko, and KT come in. Tierney could be one to deploy at LW to give one of our four attackers a rest. He is more than capable of playing there against Dinamo Zagreb.

Dinamo Zagreb haven’t played a competitive game of football in a month due to a winter break in the Croatian Football League. They have also got a new coach, and this will be his first game with the club. They currently sit in 3rd place, 7 points behind league leaders, which is pretty poor for a club that has won the league 25 times.

A victory here would see Arsenal through to the knockouts with one game to spare. However, finishing in the Top 8 will be hugely important to Mikel Arteta. With the current state of our squad, we need as much rest as we can get. We ideally need at least 4 points from our remaining games against Zagreb and Girona. Should be doable, right? We’ll see.
