✍🏼 Pre-Match Ramblings

And we’re back after 2 weeks of no Arsenal and a pretty uneventful international break (apart from Calafiori getting injured again). We face Fulham in our first of two warmup games ahead of the home tie against Real Madrid next week, with a trip to Everton awaiting us on Saturday.

Saka nears closer to a return with our talisman rumoured to be very likely available for the Real Madrid game. Will we see his return to a matchday squad tomorrow? Maybe. Will he get any minutes? I doubt it.

Fulham will not be an easy opponent for us given their European aspirations. The West London club currently sit in 8th place on 45 points in a very congested upper midtable. Dropped points could see them down in 10th at the end of the gameweek, whereas a victory and good results in other parts of the country could see the climb up to 6th place, just behind City.

As for our league position, our place in the Champions League next season is pretty set in stone, especially with the Premier League looking nailed on to receive the extra spot meaning 5th place with get in to the top competition, we would need to drop 10 points to be in any danger of missing out.
