✍🏼 Pre-Match Ramblings
Following their qualification for the EFL Cup Final, Arsenal play their rescheduled away game at the Molineux four days before heading up the road to a Spurs in crisis. We could play a big part in the relegation scrap, facing two contenders in the same week.
Without getting ahead of myself, Wolves away should, on paper, be a comfortable win for us. Having said that, the reverse fixture should’ve been a training session, but it took us a 94th minute own goal to take all three points. This season looks like a season where any team can beat any team, and with the gap to City narrowing, we can’t afford to scoff at any opponent we face.
Wolves have won just one game this season and it came against West Ham (lol) at home. Do the midlanders have something else in store for a different London club? Maybe. Our league performances have left something to be desired since the turn of the year, with our only convicing performances coming away against another relegation side in Leeds, and at home against faltering Sunderland lacking their captain.
This game being rescheduled means we will have a game in hand over City until what looks like some time in April. Does this put more pressure on the chasers? Perhaps. We have to win this game first, or it isn’t worth talking about. Despite the gap shortening to just 4 points, it is still in our hands. It doesn’t matter what City do as long as we focus on ourselves and win our games.
