🔴 Arsenal Team News:

  • Ben White (Knee): Ruled out for the season. White suffered an MCL injury during a 50-50 challenge against West Ham.
  • Riccardo Calafiori (Knock): Doubt. Substituted at half-time last weekend. Arteta said “Hopefully, it’s nothing serious” when asked about the Italian.
  • Jurrien Timber (Groin): Ruled out. Timber is fighting to regain fitness before the end of the season, but will almost certainly miss tomorrows game.
  • Mikel Merino (Foot): Ruled out. Continuing his rehabilitation from a foot injury. Also fighting to be ready for the final day against Crystal Palace and the Champions League final against PSG.

🟣 Burnley Team News:

  • Hannibal Mejbri: Doubt. The playmaker picked up a minor knock shortly after setting up an equalizer in their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. He faces a late check but is expected to push through.
  • Jordan Beyer & Josh Cullen: Ruled out. Both remain sidelined with long-term injuries.
  • Connor Roberts: Ruled out. Still lacking the match fitness required to make the squad.

⚔️ Head-to-Head:

  • Burnley 0–2 Arsenal (Nov 1, 2025, Premier League)
  • Burnley 0–5 Arsenal (Feb 17, 2024, Premier League)
  • Arsenal 3–1 Burnley (Nov 11, 2023, Premier League)
  • Arsenal 0–0 Burnley (Jan 23, 2022, Premier League)
  • Burnley 0–1 Arsenal (Sep 18, 2021, Premier League)

📖 Match Facts:

  • A win for Arsenal could be enough to win the title, with City needing to beat Bournemouth midweek to take it to the final day.
  • A goal for Gyokeres would bring his total at the Emirates to 10, becoming only the fourth player to score 10+ home goals in their first Premier League season at Arsenal. He would join Henry, Lacazette, and Giroud.
  • Burnley have picked up 4 points out of a possible 18 in London this season, with their only win coming against Crystal Palace in February.

Arsenal visited Turf Moor back in November and saw out an uneventful 0-2 victory against Scott Parker’s side. This win was our fifth consecutive win at the time, and we look to make it our fourth this time around.

Goals from Gyokeres and Rice inside 35 minutes led to a largely uneventful second half.

✍🏼 Pre-Match Ramblings

The sun will set over Arsenal’s home campaign tomorrow night as Burnley visit North London to face an Arsenal team with one focus: winning. For whatever reason, our last home game is taking place on a Monday night, which isn’t ideal, but whatever.

After City brushed Palace aside midweek Arsenal can no longer lift the trophy at the Emirates, which is a shame, but doesn’t really matter in the wider scheme of things. Whatever results City manage, it changes nothing for us. Absolutely nothing. Win this game. After that, we win against Palace. Do that, and this team is immortal in the minds of Arsenal fans all over the world, and rival fans as they cry themselves to sleep.

Burnley are already relegated, and the only thing they have left to play for is to not finish last, which is still a possibility. Don’t expect Burnley to show up tomorrow and keep the engine running on the coach. This is Premier League football, and we can’t take anything for granted. It will be a different game to that which we played in last week against a West Ham team fighting for their lives, but it still won’t be a walk in the park.

With Benny White done for the season, the big call Arteta faces is who to start at right back. On paper the choice is clear in Mosquera, but you just never know with Mikel Arteta. I’ve seen some calls for Calafiori to play there with Hincapie at left back, but I don’t think we can risk playing both our left backs at the same time, especially when one of them is made of glass. Arteta overthought it in the immediate aftermath of White’s injury and put Rice there. Safe to say he won’t be doing that again, but perhaps he’s come up with some other plan that no one will expect. Personally? Mosquera will start at right back tomorrow, and he will against Crystal Palace as well.

Timber and Merino are both agonisingly close to fitness and both will be clamboring to get back on the pitch before we go to Budapest, but I think tomorrow will be too soon for either of them. Timber is being heralded as the prophet who will win us the Champions League should he be fit to start, my message would be to temper your expectations. He hasn’t played since March, and with the World Cup coming up, shoving him in too soon could have huge ramifications for him personally.

Anyway, we know what needs to be done tomorrow. I will be there having got lucky on the TX with the huge drop of tickets. If my post on /r/gunnersatgames helped you get a ticket, I’ll be in Block 117 waiting for you to buy me a drink 😉
